Russell Renegades Minor Football is a developmental, full contact football league for boys and girls ages 6 to 16 that was founded in 2008.  We are a spring league, meaning we run from early April through June, which allows every player the opportunity to play and learn the game of football.

The Renegades organization offers an excellent opportunity for all players - both new and experienced to play the game in a fun, healthy environment that is based on mutual respect among all involved.

Practices are held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School, 1211 South Russell Road. We generally practice from 6:30pm - 8:00pm, twice a week.

We offer the chance to learn and develop athletic skills, good sportmanship, friendship and leadership.  We believe that football is a unique vehicle for teaching and developing life skills that will last far beyond the field.  Winning, losing, teamwork, perserverance, discipline and hard work are all parts of the lessons learned when you pull on a Renegades jersey.

We take immense pride in our foundation of values and principles that apply to all levels, and members of our football program and our extended football family:

  • To provide a positive experience for every child. We are committed to providing a fun, healthy environment based on mutual respect amongst players, and between players and coaches. Swearing, spitting, bullying is not part of Renegade Football (this applies to coaches, players and parents). We will not ridicule or humiliate your child.
  • To promote fair play and sportsmanship by providing a program emphasizing enhancement of discipline, good character and citizenship. The Renegades’ first consideration will always be the safety of the players.
  • To ensure continuous improvement of your child’s knowledge and skill at the sport of football. Our goal is to ensure that your child will be a better football player at the end of the season than they were at the beginning.
  • Experience competition in both a practice and game setting. Every child will have equal opportunity to participate and improve during practices. Please be assured that during the drills that require tackling or blocking of the other players, coaches will ensure that players of equal skill are paired against each other. Every player will contribute to the team in a game situation in accordance with their skill, level of maturity, dedication and position(s) they play. Although not always possible, we will strive for equal playing time for all players.

We are always looking for help whether it is with coaching/training or just helping out at BBQ’s or any way you can. Volunteers are always welcome!!

Thank you for your interest and support.
